VM creation flow

How does it work

When you click on Create a VM a lot of things come together that you have configured but it comes down to this:

A window has to be created with the correct options so you can create a working VM. Here we go:

  1. If you have multiple nodes/clusters, Cloudmox must know where the VM should be VM created? We ask the user where it should be created, and in a future release, a node can be selected automatically by Cloudmox.
  2. After the cluster/node is selected, Cloudmox checks if the requested resources fit in the resources that are assigned to that tenant/group/user.
  3. A VM id is requested from Proxmox.
  4. Then we fetch the settings from the Tenant Resource Profile.. If there are no overrides, we use the Default Resource Profile, else we use the Tenant Resource Profile (see Resource Profiles)
  5. The VPS wizard is created with the available storages, networks and ISOs for that particalar node.
  6. The VM is created in Proxmox
  7. Two tags are set. A unique tag for that VM, a general tag (CMX) so you can find Cloudmox managed VMs easily
  8. A note is set at that VM that says something like, do not change follwed by a Tanant ID
